Christopher Coppers’ Ripped Magazines

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Belgian artist Christopher Coppers is specialized in ripping up magazine covers to create beautiful works of art. His magazine cover art turns normal magazines into remarkable pieces of art.

Coppers uses magazines from Playboy to Vogue to create his cover art. The covers at first look to be carelessly ripped out, but on closer examination you can see patterns and a method to all of the madness.

Brownbook Magazine - Issue 22

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Dubai-based Brownbook Magazine celebrates the 22nd issue of their “urban guide to the Middle East” with a focus on North Africa-all done up in their recently-debuted redesign.

The fresh look includes a new Arabic-inspired font that blends seamlessly with text (primarily in English) for a magazine with a style as worldly as the stories it features.

Highlights from the new issue include a profile of emerging French-Moroccan designer Younes Duret, an in-depth piece on the architects changing Tehran’s urban landscape, a look at A.P.C.’s Jean Touitou’s experience of growing up Jewish in Tunisia, and a tour of Morocco by artist Hassan Hajjaj (whose work also graces the cover).

We definitely approve - it reminds is somewhat of one of our regular reads, Tyler Brule’s - Monocle.

Paul Smith for Freestyle Magazine

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Biannual Berlin-based publication Freestyle Magazine celebrates the launch of its second issue, with a collaboration with Paul Smith.

Following a successful debut in 2009, their Issue 02 focuses on Paul Smith, who offers an exclusive interview as well as his own take on the frisbee, working up a Pantone 806c pink design with the slogan “Take Pleasure Seriously” in metallic silver and his easily recognizable signature in the middle of the disc.

Youthful in its approach to fashion, art, and photography, the print comes packaged nicely amongst a frisbee, always customized according to each month’s featured creative.
