Europe’s First Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Parlor

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Chill out in London alert!

Yes we know it’s a bit late for summer but never too late for Ice Cream right?

Europe’s first liquid nitrogen ice cream parlor has hit the streets in London’s Camden town.

Well equipped with lab coats and zany goggles, the staff whips, or rather carefully pours, the nitrogen to the custard mixture, creating a cosmic cream for you to enjoy. That gives you the possibility to experience the making of bespoke ice-creams frozen on-site, while the rest of the space is an experimental kitchen dedicated to the development of modern confections.

Yes, we have finally entered the age of The Jetsons!

Noma, Copenhagen

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Photographer Ditte Isager has captured the essence of Chef René Redzepi in the new book from the head chef of Copenhagen restaurant Noma.

Noma has been widely credited with re-inventing Nordic cuisine.

The restaurant was recognized as the third best in the world by the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant awards in 2009 and received the unique ‘Chef’s Choice’ award at the same ceremony. It also just pipped the UK’s ‘Fat Duck’ for best restaurant in the world 2010.

Redzepi combines an unrelenting creativity and a remarkable level of craftsmanship with an inimitable and innate knowledge of the produce of his Nordic terroir.

Are you ready for some wonderful French sweets?

Mexican studio Anagrama has created the interiors and branding of the first pâtisserie in Mexico specialized in French macaroons, the most popular dessert of the French pastry set.

Titled Theurel & Thomas, the store is predominantly white to allow the colors of the macaroons to stand out.

Bon appétit!
