A good Margiela runway presentation always includes deliberate confusion, and this show was no exception. The first Martin Margiela show since Margiela himself anounced he was to leave his post as artistic director from the noted fashion house. The clothes were more colorful than expected. Think hues of teals and greens, coppers and and even some bright multi-colored, eye catching pieces. The one feature that was consistent, was the slouchy paper bag boots that completed most looks.
As the show concluded, a model emerged wearing a white gown with a train as long as the runway and stood at the end while the others did the finale walking over it. Then everyone left the venue as they knew there was no designer coming out to take a bow.
Here at 4, we are excited to announce that we will be stocking Martin Margiela’s Line 13 “White Objects”, an interesting collection of white themed homeware due in store shortly.

In case you are one of the few that haven’t already seen the spectacular Alexander McQueen SS10 catwalk show entitled ‘Plato’s Atlantis’ you can view it right here. We felt it was definitely a seasonal highlight.
McQueen’s catwalk presentation included a film created by Ruth Hogben, Nick Knight and the man himself featuring Raquel Zimmerman.
Look out for the incredible shoes! As if you missed them, right?!
