Yangtze, The Long River by Nadav Kander, Photographer

Monday, March 29th, 2010

“After several trips to different parts of the river, it became clear that what I was responding to and how I felt whilst being in China was permeating into my pictures; a formalness and unease, a country that feels both at the beginning of a new era and at odds with itself. China is a nation that appears to be severing its roots by destroying its past in the wake of the sheer force of its moving “forward” at such an astounding and unnatural pace. A people scarring their country and a country scarring its people.”

Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, London

Monday, March 29th, 2010

In its 40th anniversary year, London’s Serpentine Gallery has announced that it’s 10th Gallery Pavilion will be designed by world-renowned French architect Jean Nouvel.

The Pavilion commission is recognised as an international site for architectural experimentation, and Nouvel will follow a series of some of the world’s greatest architects who have turned their hand to the project.

Nouvel’s vision for the 2010 model is an exploration of lightweight materials and dramatic metal cantilevered structures, all rendered in the iconic red that can be seen on traditional British telephone booths, postboxes and London buses.

The bold, geometric structure with large retractable awnings and a free-standing wall plays with the juxtaposition of interior and exterior spaces, also creating versatility in the unpredictable British summer weather.

Gastronomic Gold: Give Your Food the Midas Touch with Edible Spray Paint

Monday, March 29th, 2010

This may appear a little frivolous so please bear with us for a moment…

We were intrigued to have stumbled upon a rather exciting new product that will force even the most discerning food fanatic to raise a smile. This unique find takes the form of an edible food spray which enables you to give your cooking an illustrious lustre.

We hope that you will share our appreciation of this recent offering from the madcap (and rather clever) German food label, The Deli Garage. Going by the moniker ‘Esslack Food Spray’, the ingenious new creation enables you to transform dreary old brussel sprouts into a work of art (harried parents looking to tackle their child’s faddy food tastes, this is the remedy you have been looking for)!

Check it out now, it will certainly be a conversation-starter or finisher at your next dinner party.

Smart packaging too!
